Founder and President
State Shorthand Reporting Service, Inc.
State Shorthand Reporting Service, Inc. was founded in 1957 and incorporated in 1975 by Frederick J. Johnson, III, CSR, and his wife Inez C. Johnson. Fred served the Bench and Bar of New Jersey for numerous depositions, Grand Jury hearings and Workers Compensation cases. He was most known for his honesty, integrity and dedication to his chosen profession. Fred was an inspiration to all those with whom he came in contact. He built this business from the ground floor and left his family a business with a stellar reputation.
SSRS has always been on the cutting edge of technology, with computerization of the office in the 1970’s and establishing the first Legal Video Recording Services in 1976. We made our mark nationwide with VIS/TA (Voice Identification Software for Transcript Accuracy), a software that could be used in courtrooms and public forums.
Today Fred’s vision continues to thrive with Inez and his two daughters, Kerry and Colleen, carrying on his legacy. SSRS continues to provide the Legal community with outstanding and professional service. Fred’s dream continues to flourish the way he intended, with his family at the helm. Our court reporters and staff remain loyal and are the best in the business.
